Each year, The Woman's Club of Olympia awards the

Florence Brewer Memorial Scholarship

June Martinson Scholarship

to four students graduating from an accredited high school in Thurston County.
If you are interested and would qualify for this scholarship, please apply. We will be awarding three one-time scholarships; one for $3,000, one for $2,000 and one for $1,000 from the Florence Brewer Memorial Scholarship and one $1,000 scholarship from the June Martinson Scholarship.

Selection Criteria

  1. Good scholastic standing

  2. Financial need

  3. Evidence of dependability and leadership ability

  4. Community service or involvement

  5. High school in Thurston County who plans to attend an accredited college, university, community college, or technical college in Washington state. (Should a student receiving this award change plans and attend an out-of-state school, the award must be relinquished and will be awarded to an alternate applicant.)

How to apply

  1. Complete the application form
  2. Email Susan Herring, Scholarship Chairperson at purplecat53@comcast.net the following, with your name in the subject line:
    1. Two letters of recommendation
      • Suggestions: a teacher, an advisor, counselor or other school employee, an employer, volunteer coordinator, community member, etc., or other outside source (letters from family members will not be accepted).
    2. A transcript from your high school. (Your school can email this directly, if needed. Please instruct them to have your name in the subject line.)

Ready to apply?

Applications must be received by January 25th of each year for the following year.
